Organizations
  • Children's Program
Children's Program is provided for children to age 13 each Sunday from September through June.  The children come to the first part of the regular Worship Service and, after the “Children’s Story” a few minutes into the service, they leave for classes in the church hall.  We follow the “Bible Quest” curriculum, which provides the children with an active and fun-filled learning experience of Jesus, the Christian Church and the Bible.  The children share their Children's Program experiences with the congregation through Christmas and Easter pageants and participation in special services such as Remembrance Day and Thanksgiving.  During the summer there is no formal Children's Program but there are stories and videos with a Christian theme for the children.
  • Choir
Music has a long and storied tradition here at Grace.  The Choir, under the direction of our Music Director and Organist, Esther Geisbrecht, meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:15 PM except during the summer and again at 9:30 AM on Sundays, just prior to the Worship Service.  New members are always welcome.
  • Adult Education
Our Christian Education Committee arranges study group sessions at various times throughout the year, usually for an hour or so on a Sunday morning immediately following the “Coffee Hour” after the Worship Service.  Topics range from discussions of books on religion, notably Christianity of course, to Bible studies.
  • Week of Guided Prayer
The Week of Guided Prayer - a retreat in the midst of our daily lives - is an important event in the spiritual life of Grace United Church.  It is held annually in late February or early March and is a wonderful opportunity for growth in one’s personal prayer life.

The Week commences with an opening service for the week on a Sunday afternoon, a daily commitment of 30 minutes at home of reading scripture, meditation on the passages and prayer about the scripture, and 30 minutes at the church with a prayer companion.  There is also a daily opportunity to walk a labyrinth set out on the church hall floor, for silent reflective prayer.  The church is kept quiet during the week, with all other activities and meetings suspended, to ensure quietness and peace in the building at all times and to maintain the retreat-like environment.
  • * Anyone interested in participating in the Week of Guided Prayer may obtain full details by contacting the church office.
  • Prayer Circle
The Prayer Circle presently consists of about a dozen members of the congregation who meet periodically in members’ homes to pray for named persons who are in need or sick or infirm.  Members of the Circle bring new names before the group as they hear of their problems.
  • United Church Women (UCW)
We have an active UCW group at Grace that meets monthly from September to June, sometimes in members’ houses, sometimes at the church and occasionally at other venues in town, for fellowship, fun, and education.  The UCW at Grace is a vital part of the congregation and it manages many of the fund raising activities at our church.  All women in the congregation are automatically members of this national women’s organization and the degree of involvement is up to each individual.
  • Men’s Club
All men in the congregation are automatically considered to be members of the Men’s Club.  The club has breakfast meetings monthly September to June at 8 am on the third Saturday, usually in the church hall.  The group meets for fellowship, to coordinate the men volunteers for other church activities and events and, sometimes, to hear outside speakers on current topics of interest.
  • Evergreen Singers
The Evergreen Singers of Niagara Inc. is not a Grace United Church organization but they call our church home, having started as an outreach program of our congregation.   For more details on this community singing group see “Outreach
